My True Beginning

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End”
(Revelation 21:6)

Jesus was the beginning as we know it. He was there and He was involved in creation.

  • “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning” (John 1:1-2)
  • “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made” (John 1:3)

He was involved in our human beginning.

  • “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7)

He was and is essential to our new beginning or re-birth.

  • “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God” (1 Peter 1:23)
  • “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well” (1 John 5:1)

He was also a part of our conception in the mind and purpose of God long before the beginning

  • “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace” (Ephesians 1:4-7)

He is also a part of all our other beginnings – when we fall and lie broken and defeated by life and sin and failure. He is there to cleanse and strengthen and heal us – and to help us get up and walk – again and again and again.

He is our all in all. Everything about us is caught up in the person and life of the man we call Jesus Christ – the glorious Saviour, the loving Redeemer, the Mighty Lord and Son of God.

Keep your focus on Him all the time. What He has begun in you He will complete

Lord Jesus, I look for You, and You are here – I call out to You, and You are listening – I reach for Your hand and it holds me – I search for Your light and find it within. Bless You Lord Jesus for You are my life. Amen.
