Valuable to God

“You were bought at a price”
(1 Corinthians 7:23)

Reflection:
There are two things that give value to something.

One is the price that someone is prepared to pay for it. The other is who owns it.

God was prepared to give His most precious possession to acquire you – and Jesus was prepared to give His life. There is no higher price that could have been paid. It makes you extremely valuable and precious in the eyes of God.

Jesus referred to it in the parable of the pearl of great price. You are that pearl.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it”
(Matthew 13:45-46)

God has set your value at the highest level possible. And now He owns you which adds even more to your value – because of His greatness and glory.

We don’t need to seek our significance and importance in the eyes and ways of the world, for we are far more valuable than that. We have a value that can never fade or diminish – one set by God Himself.

Response:
Contemplate your value to God – and don’t devalue yourself

Prayer:

Lord God you have honoured me beyond anything that the world can offer. Thank you so much for rating me so highly – help me to rest in that love and significance. Amen
