“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus”
(Hebrews 12:2)
Reflection:
It is vital that we keep our focus firmly on the Lord.
When things are going well it is easy to forget this – and when huge challenges arrive they can shout so loudly at us that we look at them instead.
In each and every stage of our lives Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the Good Shepherd and the Saviour. He is the One who has promised to be with us always and to never let us go. And, as Paul tells us, our God works in all things for the good of those who love Him.
His call to you today and every day, wherever and however you are, is always the same.
- “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
- “Come, follow me,” Jesus said” (Matthew 4:19)
- “Remain in me, and I will remain in you.” (John 15:4)
There is no safer and more blessed place to be – whatever the road ahead may have in store. We may walk with Him in praise and worship, in pain and petition, in love and joy, in shame and suffering and in whatever other state we may experience. In each situation He knows and is the Way forward. All day and everyday He is also our rest and our strength, our hope and our joy, our peace and our love.
He is always there.
Response:
Look to the Lord now – acknowledge His presence – talk to Him.
Prayer:
Blessed Jesus, Your eyes of Love are always on me and You never look away. Your hand reaches for mine and never drops away. Your lips smile as You say to me, simply, “Come.” Thank You so much. Amen.
